hi Victor, if you like you could upload your observation and pictures in this project hosted by iNaturalist: http://www.inaturalist.org/projects/western-palearctic-reptiles-and-amphibians The project has been started by Roberto Sindaco "to update the distribution maps of the Western Palearctic Reptiles, published in the two volumes of the "Reptiles of the Western Palearctic" (Sindaco & Jeremchenko 2008; Sindaco, Venchi & Grieco 2013)" and I'm one of the curators Obviously all herps observations are welcome, not just this one! |

Hope they don't need the exact locality, beause I am not going to write it, because of possible hunting / destruction of the colony. |

hi Victor, when you enter an observation to me the best is entering the true locality then if it's a rare, sensible species you can (you should/must do that, in fact) set the geoprivacy to obscured and the gps coordinates will be hidden and the ones showed are 10 km away from the real site, or even setting to private where the localities is completely hidden. However please do note that if you enter the observation not just in iNat but in a specific project the curators bu default will be able to see the real coordinates, i.e. in this case me, Daniele Seglie and Roberto Sindaco (again: by default, you can set up you account in a way not even curators can see your real coordinates). It's a bit long to explain if you don't know what iNaturalist is, what I suggest you is to create you own account, and see how it works... I'll be there to help you if you need, send me a private message. iNaturalist general homepage is: http://www.inaturalist.org/home while my homepage is: http://www.inaturalist.org/people/finrod See you over there |
